Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans (or use frozen, thawed)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3-4 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

  • Add the water to the air fryer and preheat the air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius (390 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Wash and prepare the green beans by removing any stems or flowers.
  • Add the green beans to a bowl along with the oil, garlic, salt and pepper, and the juice of one lemon. Toss very well to coat.
  • Add the green beans to the basket or tray of your air fryer. Be sure not to overcrowd the air fryer - you might need to cook the green beans in two batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit), shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Zest the lemon over the green beans (optional), toss, and serve.

Notes

Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  • Don’t thaw your frozen beans at all. If there’s excess ice buildup on your beans rinse them under water and dry them with paper towels.
  • Add them to a bowl and mix with the oil and spices.
  • Place in the air fryer basket/tray and air fry at 400 F (200 C) for 5 minutes.
  • Remove and shake well. Air fry again for another 4-6 minutes.

Storage Instructions

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheating Instructions

Place the green beans in your air fryer . Add 1/3 cup of water on the bottom of your air fryer and run it at 350 F (175 C) for 2-3 minutes shaking the basket/tray halfway through.
