  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Slice the tough ends off the bottom of the asparagus spears with a sharp knife.
  • Take 5 asparagus spears and wrap 2 slices of bacon around each one. Repeat until you've made 8 bundles. Set the bundles on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder in a small bowl and brush the mixture onto the asparagus bundles generously.
  • Sprinkle some freshly cracked black pepper over the bundles.
  • Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus has softened and the bacon is lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

To make this recipe ahead of time, simply assemble the bundles and place them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 36 hours ahead of time. Before baking, brush on the soy sauce and brown sugar mixture, bake as directed, and serve immediately after baking.
