  • Preheat your oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the bread into 1 inch cubes and place them on the baking sheet.
  • Melt the butter (or oil) in a bowl and mix it with the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour the butter mixture on the bread cubes.
  • Toss everything together well on the baking sheet until the bread is coated in the seasoned butter.
  • Spread the croutons in a single layer. Depending on the size of your sheet, you might need to bake them in batches.
  • Bake them at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius) for about 15 minutes, shaking and turning them halfway through.
  • Let the croutons cool before adding them to your favourite salad or soup.

Notes

Storage instructions

The croutons keep well in an airtight container at room temperature for several days. To refresh them, simply put them in the oven for a few minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
