Before our kids were born my husband and I used to go to a local smoothie bar almost every Friday night. We loved their smoothies and it wasn’t too long before the owner knew us by name. My favourite smoothie there was a strawberry and cranberry smoothie and I’d order it every time I got the chance. I’ve made many delicious smoothies in my day (like this Berry Vanilla Smoothie or this Green Apple Spinach Smoothie) but I love the combination of strawberries and cranberries so much I had to recreate my smoothie bar favourite for this month’s #FoodieMamas strawberry recipe roundup! This Winter Berry Smoothie is the perfect combination of sweet strawberries, tart cranberries and warm, spicy cinnamon. It’s full of holiday flavours and I know you’re going to love it as much as I do!
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen cranberries
1 cup cranberry juice
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Add the strawberries, cranberries, vanilla yogurt, cinnamon and cranberry juice to your blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, and serve!
This smoothie makes 2 adult-sized servings or 4 kid-sized servings. My kids loved this smoothie despite the tart cranberry flavour. Strawberries are such a great fruit to add to any smoothie to create sweetness and paired with cranberries and cinnamon at this time of year is the perfect way to enjoy them!!
