Since I started writing this blog just over a year ago there have been so many amazing opportunities that have come my way. I’ve enjoyed sharing my favourite recipes with you week after week, and working with brands to create fun recipes and promote great ingredients. I also loved travelling to Montreal last fall and attending the Food Bloggers of Canada FBC2015 conference where I learned so much about blogging and photography and got to meet some amazing Canadian food bloggers who I now call friends.
And one of the coolest opportunities that recently fell into my lap was an opportunity to film a segment for a local morning news show featuring several of my recipes! Filming was a blast and I’m so thankful for the opportunity! And if you’re reading this because you saw me on TV, welcome!! If you haven’t seen the segment, you can watch it below: .gn-embed-wrapper{position:relative;height:60px;max-width:100%;padding-bottom:56.25%;overflow:hidden;box-sizing:content-box;}iframe{position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;}
So today I’m rounding up the 6 recipes I shared on the show. They’re all great healthy, kid-friendly recipes that are perfect for taking on the go. Whether you’re going on a road trip this summer, flying with your kids or you just lead a busy lifestyle, these healthy snacks will be perfect for your family!
These Healthy Toddler-Friendly Mini Muffins are so good! They’re sweetened only with mashed bananas, and they’re full of shredded carrots and zucchini and whole grains, so they’re great for little ones. Our family loves these muffins and I like to keep a few in the freezer to grab on my way out the door so the kids have a healthy snack to enjoy on long car trips or busy mornings out.

These Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Bites are a healthier way to enjoy chocolate! They’re made with natural peanut butter, dates, oats and unsweetened cocoa powder, and dark chocolate chunks. My husband and I love these as a healthy treat for road trips and although we don’t give them to our little ones often, they’re great for older kids!
These Cranberry Cashew Energy Bites are made with raw cashews, dates, and shredded coconut, so they’re full of healthy fat and all the energy you need to get through a busy day or a long flight. They’re vegan, gluten-free, and the perfect healthy snack!
These Sea Salt and Garlic Kale Chips are the perfect savoury snack for your next trip! They’re so easy to make with only 4 ingredients and they’re a great crunchy snack to reach for in place of potato chips!
Homemade granola bars are almost always better than store-bought, and that is definitely the case with these Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars! They’re no-bake and naturally sweetened with brown rice syrup, making them a healthier option than conventional granola bars. And they’re easy to customize so if chocolate and peanut butter isn’t your thing, feel free to make them with the dried fruit, nuts or seeds of your choice!
These Homemade Apple Chips are one of my favourite homemade snacks to make with the kids. All you need is a parchment lined baking sheet, a few apples and a sprinkle of cinnamon and you’re good to go! They’re one of the healthiest sweet snacks around and they’re perfect for long car trips! I hope you enjoy these healthy travel snacks for kids! Let me know in the comments below, which one is your favourite?
