Before our kids were born my husband and I used to go to a local smoothie bar almost every Friday night. We loved their smoothies and it wasn’t too long before the owner knew us by name. My favourite smoothie there was a strawberry and cranberry smoothie and I’d order it every time I got the chance.
I’ve made many delicious smoothies in my day (like this Berry Vanilla Smoothie and this Green Apple Spinach Smoothie) but I love the combination of strawberries and cranberries so much I had to recreate my smoothie bar favourite for this month’s #FoodieMamas strawberry recipe roundup!
Ingredients in Cranberry Smoothies
This cranberry smoothie has the perfect combination of sweet and tart flavours, and you can make the easy smoothie recipe with just 5 ingredients:
- sweet strawberries
- tart cranberries
- cranberry juice
- vanilla yogurt, and
- spicy cinnamon
Of course, you will also need a blender to mix the cranberry smoothies in. This is the blender I use. It’s sturdy and never lets me down!
I know you’re going to love it as much as I do!
If you like really thick smoothies, feel free to add some extra ice cubes when you’re blending it. My kids love thick smoothies because it makes them feel like they’re drinking a milkshake.
This winter smoothie recipe makes 2 adult-sized servings or 4 kid-sized servings. My kids loved the smoothies, despite the tart cranberry flavour. Strawberries are such a great fruit to add to any smoothie to create sweetness and paired with cranberries and cinnamon at this time of year is the perfect way to enjoy them!!
