If you’ve ever made efforts to eat a healthy diet you know how hard it can be to find those no-guilt recipes that are packed with nothing but the good stuff. We’re in the thick of summer right now and it seems like everywhere I look there’s ice cream and cakes and desserts of all kinds. Not that I’m complaining – I love a good treat every now and then, but sometimes you just need to eat something you can feel really really good about, am I right? This is my go-to fruit salad recipe and it’s definitely one of the recipes I always feel good about making (and eating)! I make it for brunches, showers, family gatherings and parties, and it’s always a crowd-pleaser. Especially when I serve it to the most important crowd of all – my kids! This Honey Lime Fruit Salad is one of my favourite dishes but it’s also one of theirs. If I told you how quickly they devour this fruit salad every time I make it you might not even believe me!
My kids love fruit more than anything else, and they love it in any form – especially smoothies – and I’m more than happy to let them eat as much as they want of the good stuff! It’s so adorable to see their eyes light up at the sight of a plate of watermelon or a bowl of fresh strawberries…I’m just praying that their love of fruit never gets overshadowed by a love of cupcakes or candy or chocolate. I realize that’s probably wishful thinking, but I’m going to hang onto it as long as I can.
