Do you guys love smoothies as much as I do? I think the kids and I have had a smoothie at least once each day for the last few months. We just can’t get enough of them! And since we’ve been consuming SO many smoothies, we’ve gotten pretty creative with our flavour combinations. One of the ingredients I love adding to my adult-only smoothies is cold brewed tea. It’s just such a great, refreshing addition to a fruit smoothie in the summertime, and if you use a caffeinated tea it gives you the perfect boost you need to make it through the day. I’ve used all kinds of tea in my fruit smoothies like white tea, mint tea, all different kinds of fruit tea, and even Earl Grey, but in the heat of the summer green tea is BY FAR my favourite. It’s just so fresh and mild, and it pairs well with all kinds of different fruits. I’ve even paired it with watermelon, and it was a HUGE HIT (grab the recipe for my Watermelon Green Tea Refresher here!)! Of course, this smoothie isn’t one to share with toddlers if you have them (I do!), unless of course you want them to be awake for half the night. But it’s a delightful, cool beverage for the summertime that that this health-conscious mama is loving lately. I added a banana to this recipe, just for some extra natural sweetness, and it gives the smoothie a slightly tropical flavour too. And with only 4 all-natural ingredients, I’ll be sipping on this smoothie all summer long!Looking for more?
