When the days start getting shorter, back to school time is coming, and the evenings get cool I know fall is fast approaching and I want to bake all the things!! These Best Ever Peanut Butter Cookies are one of my favourite fall recipes (although they’re delicious any time of the year!) because they’re sweet, salty, and oh so comforting!

My kids absolutely adore these cookies, with or without the added Reese’s Pieces candies. They make a great treat for fall, because of the colours (and the comfort food factor!) and they’re also a great after-school snack with a tall glass of milk!
These Best Ever Peanut Butter Cookies turn out best when you use a processed, smooth peanut butter with no added sugar. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try using your favourite variety of crunchy peanut butter – just be sure it doesn’t have a high sugar content as this changes the texture of the cookies a little too much.

Best Ever Peanut Butter Cookies
Recipe: Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter (low or no sugar is best - we like the no sugar blue jar from Kraft brand)
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Reese's Pieces (peanut butter flavoured candy coated chocolate)
Recipe: Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Add the butter and sugar to the bowl of your stand mixer (or in a large mixing bowl if you're using a hand mixer) and mix on medium-high speed until the mixture is creamy and fluffy.
- Mix in the peanut butter on medium high speed until the mixture is smooth.
- Add the eggs and mix until combined.
- Add the flour, baking soda and salt, and mix on low just until combined and no flour streaks remain.
- Add the Reese's Pieces and mix by hand until combined.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (or two, of you want to bake 2 pans at once) and drop about 1-2 tablespoon-sized balls evenly spaced on the cookie sheet. Be sure to leave lots of room between the balls of dough as these cookies spread a little bit.
- Bake for about 9-12 minutes or until the top of the cookies have just lost their shine.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for about 15 minutes before moving to a cooling rack to cool completely.

These look delicious! Im planning on making them soon, thank you!
Thanks! Let me know how you like them! 🙂
What other peanut butter can you use as you can no longer get the peanut butter with the blue lid. I know this as searched everywhere for someone who is diabetic and it is no longer available.. thanks
Just go for any sugar free peanut butter.
When you say any sugar free peanut butter, does that include natural PB with just peanuts and salt? because I’ve seen other recipes that say not to use the natural PB. The brand you use, even though less sugar, has palm kernel oil so just want to make sure natural PB is ok.
Yes! All natural PB will work.
