Well winter is DEFINITELY here, at least where we live! I love looking out the window to fresh, white snow on the ground at this time of the year, and as soon as our kids see fresh snow outside they’re begging to go outside and play in it! We’re so blessed to live in one of the most gorgeous places in the world so enjoying the outdoors is something we do often, regardless of the weather.
As soon as it gets cold outside my kids start asking for hot chocolate when they come in from playing, and there’s really nothing better than a warm mug to warm you up after being outside in the cold. But because my kids are still little (age 2 and 4) I’m really careful about both their sugar intake and the health-factor of the things I give them to eat and drink. Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy treats every now and then but sometimes as a mom it’s just good to have those go-to recipes that you know your kids love to enjoy as a treat, but you also know are pretty good choices as far as their health goes. For our family this is definitely one of those recipes!

3 Ingredient Healthier Crock Pot Hot Chocolate
Recipe: Ingredients
- 2 liters milk whole milk, 1% or skim milk works well
- 1/2 - 2/3 cup liquid honey to taste
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- whipped cream, chocolate sauce, etc. for garnish

- Add milk, honey and cocoa powder to your slow cooker and whisk to combine.
- Cook on high for 2 to 2.5 hours.
- Pour into mugs and enjoy with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and anything else your heart desires!
