You know it’s summer when coleslaw starts making an appearance at the dinner table. We absolutely LOVE this Best Ever Creamy Coleslaw and it’s a staple in our house all summer long with our favourite pulled pork sandwiches, grilled meats and burgers. It’s super easy to make – and even if you’re not into slicing your own cabbage for coleslaw, just buy a bag of pre-shredded cabbage in the produce section of your supermarket! It makes this recipe even easier! We like making this Best Ever Creamy Coleslaw with low fat, natural mayonnaise, but if you want to keep it healthier or even vegan, feel free to substitute the mayo for your favourite vegan mayo and the honey for maple syrup or even plain sugar. Best Ever Creamy Coleslaw
This Best Ever Creamy Coleslaw is the only coleslaw recipe you'll need for all your summer parties and barbecues! It's easy to make with just a few simple ingredients!
Recipe: Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise or vegan mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons honey or other vegan honey substitute
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 2 to 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- 4 cups thinly sliced cabbage (use fresh green cabbage or a mix of green and purple cabbage)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
- 1 thinly sliced red onion
- sliced green onions for garnish (optional)
Recipe: Instructions
- Add the mayonnaise, honey, mustard, vinegar and salt and pepper to a mason jar and shake until smooth. Set aside.
- Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots and red onion to a large bowl.
- Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well until full coated in the dressing.
- Garnish with sliced green onion and serve.

Store in the fridge for up to one day ahead of serving, if desired.

Great coleslaw! I like creamy coleslaw, but with a bit of bite, and this fills the bill. I made it with prepared coleslaw mix and added the red onion and green onion, and this was so easy. Thanks for a great recipe!
