Spring is the season for salads and today I’m sharing our family’s favourite go-to salad dressing, this Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing. We almost never use bottled supermarket salad dressings (they’re not readily available where we live) and this 5-ingredient salad dressing is a recipe I make at least once a week in our house! It’s perfect on almost any green salad, it has a hint of sweetness, and it’s made with basic, healthy ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen! How to make homemade salad dressing
Making healthy homemade salad dressing at home doesn’t get any easier. Just combine all your ingredients, shake well or blend, and that’s it! Healthy dressings go easy on the oil and sweetener and often include more natural ingredients like lemon or lime juice, maple syrup, honey, mustard, garlic, and fresh or dried herbs and spices. Mason jars are my favourite kitchen tool to have on hand for recipes like this Honey Lemon Vinaigrette Salad Dressing. They form an airtight seal, so you don’t have to worry about making mess, they’re dishwasher safe and easy to clean, and they’re great for more than just salad dressings – I use them for smoothies, homemade jams, soups, and tons of other food storage. I make this dressing all the time but I cut the maple syrup in 1/2.
