These absolutely gorgeous, fresh asparagus which just HAD to be made into our favourite Lemon Garlic Roasted Asparagus side dish – we’ve been making this side dish for years and years every single asparagus season because it’s just the perfect way to usher in summer. Bright, lemony flavours and gorgeous colours!!

If you’re looking for another amazing side dish to add to your spring/summer recipe repertoire, this Roasted Asparagus is definitely it! Just a few simple ingredients and about 15 minutes are all it takes until you’ll be in asparagus heaven!

You’ll need these ingredients to make this roast asparagus:
- asparagus
- olive oil
- cloves of garlic or garlic powder
- lemon
- salt
- pepper
- Balsamic– after roasting, drizzle the asparagus with a balsamic glaze.
- Garlic Parmesan– before roasting, sprinkle both minced garlic and freshly grated parmesan over top of the asparagus.
- Mediterranean– After roasting, add crumbled feta cheese, Kalamata olives, sliced, and sprinkle dried oregano on top of the spears.
Time needed: 15 minutes
Follow these simple steps to make this roasted asparagus recipe.
- Preheat oven.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Snap off bottoms.
Snap off or cut the bottom inch off of the asparagus stalks.
- Place on baking sheet.
Place the asparagus on the baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
- Toss well.
Mix together the garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper and pour over the asparagus on the pan. Toss well to coat.
- Lemon slices.
Place the lemon slices on top of the asparagus and place in the oven.
- Roast Asparagus.
Roast for 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or until they are bright green in colour and slightly soft.
- Serve.
Serve immediately.

Can both thin and thick stalks be roasted together?
Yes, you can roast both thin and thick spears of asparagus. Make sure you watch the thinner stalks closely so they don’t get too soft.

Lemon Garlic Roasted Asparagus
Recipe: Ingredients
- 2 bunches asparagus (approximately 30 pieces), washed and dried
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed (OR 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 lemon sliced
- salt and pepper (to taste)
Recipe: Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Snap the bottom inch off each of the asparagus stalks (or slice with a knife if desired).
- Place on a large baking sheet and drizzle with the olive oil.
- Add the garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and toss well to coat.
- Lay the lemon slices on top and roast for 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or until bright green in colour and only slightly soft.
- Serve immediately.
