Easy Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas
Recipe: Equipment
Recipe: Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion thinly sliced
- 3 bell peppers (we like using green, red and yellow) thinly sliced
- 8-10 ounces flank steak, ribeye steak, or sirloin steak
- 1 lime; juice and zest
- 2 1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder optional, for more spice
- tortillas, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, avocado for serving (as desired)
Recipe: Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Drizzle the olive oil on a large sheet pan.
- Add the sliced onions and sliced bell peppers to the sheet pan, along with 1 1/2 tablespoons of the taco seasoning.
- Using your hands or a pair of tongs, toss everything together well until the veggies are well coated in the seasonings and the oil.
- Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for about 8-10 minutes, or until the veggies are becoming soft.
- Slice your steak against the grain in 1/4 inch thick slices. Add the rest of the taco seasoning, lime zest and juice to the steak slices and mix well.
- Add the steak slices on top of the veggies and return to the oven for 6-8 more minutes.
- Serve in tortillas with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and avocado, as desired (use the time while the fajita filling is baking to prep these ingredients).

Can’t wait to try this one, though I’ll be cutting the ingredients in half (just cooking for 2) I LOVE sheet pan recipes, line the pan with foil and NO MESS TO CLEAN UP! Thanks for another winning recipe, Chrissie!

Love these! Can’t wait to try them!
I hope you enjoy them!
So do you cook the steak at all before putting it all on thesheet to cook? Thanks!
No, that’s not necessary 🙂
Curious is you ever tried with Flank steak?
Yes! Flank steak works well.
Made this and my family loved it! Thanks so much 🙂
You’re welcome! My family loves it too!🙂
Does the steak come out tender or tough?? I would think baking it may make it really tough..
This looks delicious!
It should be nice and tender 🙂 Enjoy!
Making this tonight but would like to add some chicken- any different directions?
I have a separate recipe for chicken fajitas on a sheet pan. You can check it out here: https://thebusybaker.ca/oven-chicken-fajitas-with-dairy-free/
I have made them three times and absolutely love the results, The best is the leftovers the next day. My son loves them when he comes for lunch. Kudos to this recipe.
So glad you loved it! 🙂
With 3 kids and a husband, when everyone likes a meal it becomes 5 star – and this does not happen often! It was delicious, easy, and it actually took the time you said it was going to take. Much appreciated!
So glad you loved it! 🙂
We thought this was a good start to a recipe. We’ve made it twice. The first was exactly as stated. I checked the pan at ten minutes, like suggested, and the veggies where still super crisp but the meat was cooked well. We made it a second time didn’t slice the steak until after we pulled it out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. We also subbed homemade taco seasoning. Loved it this way.
Glad you liked the recipe!
Made these last night and they were delicious and so easy! Definitely on the menu again. The only thing I added was 1/2 tsp of cumin, other than that just followed the easy recipe.
So glad you liked them! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! 🙂
Can you use “top round beef for stir fry” for this recipe or will it come out too dry? Thank you!
Yes, that should work just fine. Just be sure not to overcook it 🙂
I am never making fajitas on the stovetop again. So easy, so tasty! Thank you for this recipe!!
You’re welcome Jeanne!!
Made this exactly as written (sirloin). It was so easy, fast, and delicious….thanks for a great recipe!!
You’re welcome Kathy!!
Just discovered this recipe and can’t wait to try! Do you think you could you do this with frozen peppers? I have a bag of frozen chopped peppers from Trader Joe’s and wondered if they might work. Thanks for any advice!
Yes it should work, although you run the risk of the peppers being a little softer than they should be (frozen veggies go soft so much faster than fresh ones). But the flavour will be great!
OMG! What a recipe. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for such a unique and amazing recipe.
Thanks so much Sophia! I hope you give it a try!
This was very good! I marinated the beef in the taco spices for about 1 hour before mixing in the peppers and onions bthen cooking. I will be making this again, easy to make and delicious!
I’m so happy you enjoyed it! Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback!
So good and way easier than doing it all on the skillet! Highly recommend! I left mine in for about 5 mins extra and everything was perfectly cooked. Excellent leftovers too. I’ll absolutely be making this again, thank you for sharing and making dinner a bit easier 😊
